If your site runs on WordPress, there’s a chance this recent bug discovered in WordPress 4.9.3 will affect you, breaking automatic updates of the WordPress core software. Fortunately this bug doesn’t break any of the look/functionality of the affected sites, but it does leave sites more vulnerable to future attacks.
Good news, the fix is fairly easy. All you need to do is login to your site’s admin dashboard (you.com/wp-admin) and click the update button that should be near the top of the page. If the version listed is anything less than 4.9.4, click the update button (after backing up of course!) and you should be officially bug free.
Note – For our monthly and quarterly website updates and maintenance customers, we will be applying this update to all affected sites between 12:00AM-4:00AM, during which time your sites may be down very briefly (>5 minutes) while the update is applied.
