Improvements Made To Google Images Search

Update to Google Image Search ResultsYesterday Google started rolling out its improvements to Google Images which now allows up to 1,000 images to be displayed in a single search page. This new website technology is called ‘infinite scroll’ which allows for fewer clicks and a faster ability to find the image you are looking for.

When scrolling over any image, a preview box pops up with detail about the size, name, and URL link to the image. Having this information only visible when scrolling over the image allows them to be grouped closely together so you can get a much bigger overview of what is available based on your search query.

It is incredibly important to provide valuable information to your customers and prospects. Demonstrate that you are an expert in your industry and teach people how to talk-the-talk and walk-the-walk when it comes to your products and services. Oh yea… and do it for FREE.

What are the benefits of providing free information?
To start, you need to give your customers a reason to listen to you when you make a recommendation for why they should buy your product or service. Demonstrating the do’s and don’ts, things to be aware of in competitors, etc. are great information for clients that don’t have your industry knowledge. This is a way of building trust.

You Don’t Need SEO You Need Internet Marketing

Internet Marketing StrategyMany small businesses with a new or small web presence get stuck in the trap that investing in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) will solve their web problems and drive traffic. As a search engine optimizer I can say that is not the case. Small businesses are better off investing in an Internet Marketing strategy that incorporates many aspects of web related marketing.

If you have a new website launched on a new domain and you are in a competitive industry, it is going to take a long time to gain competitive search rankings. Likewise if your website is small (5-15 pages) and is rarely updated with fresh content, you are going to have a hard time gaining results overnight.
